On 30 September 2021 the Webinar “Trouble with ransomware? Do you want to be flexible but protected from cyber attacks?” took place. The speaker was Alessandro Borgonovo, Territory Channel Manager MSP at Kaspersky, who introduced a topic that, in the words of journalist Marco Maria Lorusso, the Webinar’s moderator, we can consider neither past nor future but absolutely contemporary.

According to the speaker, the Webinar’s topic is a contemporary one for 3 reasons:
1) Ownership culture
2) Consumption process
3) Security
Digital is no longer an add-on to the business process: digital, today, is a business process.
In the past, the reseller bought something in order to resell it to someone. Today, it buys something for itself, works on it and then resells it, as a service, to customers.
It is therefore the market that governs these scenarios, says Alessandro.
The move to an MSP model is one that is being made more and more often today, because very few companies are able to analyse their processes and have everything available in-house, so outsourcing processes is certainly something that customers ask for.
The process is a consumption process.
Customers need to be offered a finished product that solves a problem for them.
We can say that cybercriminals today work in organisations that join forces to commit crimes.
Having antivirus is essential but it is not enough: we also need an emergency plan that can defend us against attacks.
According to Alessandro, the future of this field will be a hybrid one based on the use of the Cloud.
Agent
According to Alessandro, Agents have the benefit of consuming few resources in the data centre.
The server provider, on the other hand, can install the agent and use it to secure its own data centre.
